Hierogamy: Initiatory Threshold

During FESTÍN València, PROAVA's El Celler winery becomes the setting for a unique event. In this historic space, located underground in the centre of Valencia, art, wine and cuisine will come together in an event where the senses and creativity meet: Hierogamia.

The experience is born from the creative union between the artist Ludmila Ríos Guillén, the chef Lluis Peñafort and the oenologist Rosa Vázquez. It all begins with ‘Hierogamia: Umbral Iniciático’, an exhibition of ritual painting created by Ludmila Ríos Guillén, who works in direct contact with nature.

The experience opens with a performative action that opens the door to an immersive experience. From there, attendees will enjoy a four-course tasting, with dishes created by Lluis Peñafort as a gastronomic extension of the artist’s works. Each one reflects a symbolic moment in the journey proposed by the exhibition.

• ‘In no man’s land’ – dried fruits, spices and dehydrated fruits: the origin, the fertile, the uncertain.
• ‘Ritual’ – squid cream with vegetables: the deep, the veiled, what emerges in stillness.
• ‘Movement’ – tuna marinated with citrus: the vibrant, the subtle, the flowing.
• ‘Our Daily Bread’ – roast chicken brioche and pickled brine: the everyday, the essential, the shared.

Each of these steps is accompanied by intimate and ceremonial wines, chosen by Rosa Vázquez: limited edition bottles, produced by Valencian micro-wineries with artistic sensibility, which vibrate in harmony with the work and reinforce its sacred character. Hierogamia is not just a dinner, it is a living experience, created especially for a feast: A painting to be tasted. A wine to be contemplated. A communion for the senses.
