This visit is a unique opportunity to discover the medieval winery of the former Bombas Gens farmhouse or alqueria in the company of archaeologist Paloma Berrocal, director of its archaeological excavation. The rehabilitation of the Bombas Gens complex brought to light a winery from the end of the fifteenth century. The building is intact and threw up elements of great archaeological worth.

During the course of the visit, you will experience the sensation of immersing yourself inside an underground winery built in or around 1500 and be able to appreciate its original elements: its walls, the brick vault, the long benches, a small well to collect the must produced by the treading of the grapes along with one of the jars unearthed. Apart from the bodega, other elements from the farmhouse have also been conserved such as the kitchen hearth, a circular well for treading the grapes and a set of beautiful blue and white tiled pavements in the Manises style from the end of the fifteenth century. These archaeological remains related to the winemaking activity that was carried out in this farmhouse were thrown up during the scientific dig excavated in the summer of 2016.

At the end of the visit, Bodegas Cherubino will offer a tasting of 3 Valencian wines, by Denomination of Origin Utiel- Requena and Valencia, accompanied by an appetizer designed for the occasion by two Michelin star chef Ricard Camarena, one of the most creative chefs on the national scene. With this gastronomic experience, our aim is for those attending, even those with no knowledge of wine tasting, to be able to follow their instincts and link wines with different natural elements (flowers, fruit, nuts, spices, etc.) that may describe them.
