Behind the curtain. Art, cocktail and spaces for dialogue

An experience that connects the history of modern art with the places where ideas were born and painters, writers and intellectuals met: cafes, bars, clubs and bars that were true cultural laboratories. The concept is articulated through the metaphor of the «curtain». Historically, many bars and clubs used curtains and booths to create intimate atmospheres and muffle conversations. In the museum, that curtain is invisible: each room becomes a threshold that allows you to cross different eras. A journey through the history of cocktails through art, from Paris at the end of the nineteenth century to the present day. 1.5-hour guided tour of the Hortensia Herrero Art Centre connecting art history and cocktail culture, with tasting of three cocktails (alcoholic and non- alcoholic).
